The first design management course was conducted by an expert team of three instructors from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan last January at the Egyptian Furniture Export Council. Industry designers were the target of this course of Basic Furniture Design. The 80 hour course conducted over twelve days spanning a three week duration, focused on presenting the participants with the comprehensive package of effective modern furniture design business, starting with the idea conception, on to model making and material and technology selections, and  through to trend research, market positioning of ideas and branding. This comprehensive industry and market oriented approach is what is unique about these courses traditionally taught in local institutions form the academic angle.
